Trinamool Congress snubs Yechuri on Lalgarh visit
Trinamool Congress today rubbished CPI(M)’s charge that two of its Union Ministers had ‘incited violence’ in troubled Lalgarh, saying they were within their constitutional right to visit the place.
“The visit by the Union Ministers– Mukul Roy and Sisir Adhikari– was within their constitutional right as they went to Lalgarh after informing the state and the Central governments,” Trinamool Congress leader Saugata Roy said.
They also informed the Union Home Minister who asked the state government to arrange security for them, Roy said responding to the CPI(M)’s charge that TN ministers’ visit to Lalgarh was in violation of a Home Ministry directive against such trips.
The Union Minister of state for Shipping, Roy, and the Union Minister of state for Rural Development, Adhikari, visited the troubled area along with another party leader Partha Chatterjee yesterday and interacted with villagers there, the Trinamool Congress leader said.
